We like to think of this re-release of the first game of the Grand Theft Auto series as a small gift from the developing company Rockstar Games as a thank you to the most veteran players of this awesome saga. They have kindly decided to offer Grand Theft Auto 1 for free, completely available to the public.
Back in the 90s, in 1997 to be exact, the first Grand Theft Auto or “GTA” game appeared, and today, new games in the series continue to be released under the same name. Of course, a lot has changed since 1997, and the game looks completely different these days compared to the GTA 1. The latest editions have stunning 3D graphics with impressive realism. But even with its retro arcade game look and 2D streets, it still has the essence of the GTA series, of driving “borrowed” cars around the city and wreaking havoc.
This free version of Grand Theft Auto 1 is designed to be compatible with basically any computer, with very minimal technical requirements and no restrictions to be able to play properly. Whether you played the original when it first came out or not, this is an offer that’s just too good to pass up.
